Tuscany, ItalyThe organic sangiovese is a mix of four sites in Radda in Chianti, Gaiole in Chianti, Tibuca, and Le Noci, averaging 500 metres above sea level over marl, limestone and clay. Perfumed and definitely on the red fruit side, pitching cherries and raspberries with the requisite acidity for life and earth and leather for complexity. Simple yet polished, it is an excellent example of when less is more. Drink or hold; there is no rush. The fermentation languished over two months in concrete and stainless before aging in a combination of Slavonian oak (10hl, 20hl, 40hl) and concrete tanks for a year and then some.Tasted: 30 June 2023Tasted by: Prices:
Tuscany, ItalyThis organic sangiovese comes off vineyards in Radda in Chianti, Gaiole in Chianti, Tibuca, and Le Noci, averaging 500m, and from a mix of marly limestones and clay. It fermented for over eight weeks in concrete and stainless before aging in a combination of Slavonian oak (10hl, 20hl, 40hl) and concrete tanks over one year. Perfumed cherries and raspberries flow through a graceful supple leather-lined palate with bright, lifted acidity and sticky, long tannins. Quite polished and drinking well now.Tasted: 23 June 2023Tasted by: Prices:
