Tinhorn Creek Blanc de Blanc 2018
Okanagan Valley, British Columbia, Canada2018 was slightly below the five year average for heat in the Okanagan Valley, leaving the crucial final weeks of the harvest cool enough to force a long, slow ripening period ideal for chardonnay. This Blanc de Blanc (truly, Blanc de Blancs) was handpicked, whole cluster pressed and fermented in stainless steel before it was aged on its lees for three years. This is the real deal, a stylish collaboration between viticulturist Andrew Moon and winemaker Leandro and an excellent addition to the top of the BC sparkling wine market. The nose wafts out of the glass perfectly, pitching tangerine mixed with white flowers and and citrus. The palate is similar, with fine concentration and more creamy, brioche in the finish.
