Tantalus Riesling Lab Hard Pressings Experiment 12 2022
Okanagan Valley, British Columbia, CanadaRiesling Lab is a playground for the winery, widely lauded as one of Canada's top riesling producers. This is the 12th annual geek out experiment for the cellar crew (Clarissa, Sam, and Michael this year), utilizing all the hard pressings from their collected riesling lots, implementing partial blackened juice (super hyper-ox), partial fermentation on pinot noir skins, partial native ferment, partial cultured yeast trials, all balanced off with 22 g/L RS. There's a perfumed soapiness to this white from first whiff that carries through the finish, drawing along juicy pear, ripe white peach, candied lemon, and lime peel, finishing with a snappy citrus twist.
