Kühling-Gillot Grauer Burgunder Réserve 2021

Rheinhessen, GermanyKühling-Gillot is located in the municipality of Bodenheim, Rheinhessen, where the Kühling family has been farming and making wine for more than 200 years. Until Roland Gillot married into the family in 1970, it was always run by women. Since 2006, the winery has been run by Carolin Gillot and her husband Olivier Spanier. Their 23 hectares of vines have been cultivated biodynamically since 2005. This pinot gris was from 20 year old vines rooted in limestone-loess marl soils across Bodenheim. It was native fermented in large wood, and then transferred to 900L Tonneau for a few months prior to bottling. Ripe pear, fragrant white peach, toasted almond is lined with beeswax and scented with lime blossom, with kisses of salinity on the finish. A serious pinot gris, belying its 12.5%, and one ready for the dinner table.Tasted: 09 May 2023Tasted by: Treve RingPrices:
