Hester Creek Cabernet Sauvignon 2020
Golden Mile Bench, Oliver, Okanagan Valley, British Columbia, CanadaFrom 16 year old vines planted at blocks 7 and 8 at the estate on the Golden Mile Bench, the fruit was destemmed but not crushed before a four day cold soak and fermentation in Ganimede fermenters. This has an attractive nose of sappy wild berries and minty herbs, framed by dark chocolate and aromatic spices after aging for 16 months in French barriques. It's very much a youthful wine, and the tannins are still firm and rugged at this early stage, but there's the depth of fruit and impressive concentration that will allow this to gracefully mature over the next 4-5 years.
