Calchaqui Valley, Salta, North, ArgentinaThis malbec comes off vineyards at Cafayate's Finca la Maravilla (1700m) and Chañar Punch, at 2000m. It was fermented (partial native and partial whole cluster) in a blend of stainless and concrete, before 1 years' rest in a 25/75 older French barrels / stainless steel and concrete. Very ripe and fruit forward, with mouth filling crushed cassis, cherry, and wild blueberry, seasoned with dark chocolate and wild herbs. The velveteen palate is framed with sueded tannins, finishing with alluring sweet spices and a bitter edge.
