Chalk Hill Chardonnay 2019

Sonoma Coast, Sonoma County, California, United StatesAs old as this wine is (can anyone explain why we don’t have 2021 or 2022 in the market?), it is still in good shape and ready to drink. 2019 was a highly regarded chardonnay vintage in Sonoma, known for its elegance and finesse. The Chalk Hill AVA in Sonoma has long been acclaimed, and while I haven't seen this wine in a decade, it does not disappoint. Is it modern? Hardly, but it is California with a relaxed California twist that makes it an attractive wine for many. The nose is honeyed with tropical fruit throughout. The palate is similar with glossy, creamy ripe pear, some vanilla, and a touch of citrus. A California experience you can pair with crab, halibut, creamy pasta dishes, or baked Brie.Tasted: 05 May 2023Tasted by: Anthony GismondiPrices:
