Okanagan Valley, British Columbia, CanadaThe Bartier traditional method sparkling program has gone multi-vintage, using a small reserve of wines to bolster the house style. Over the years, the reserve will add increasing complexity to this wine, which already has a purity of flavour and is a Bartier trademark. It is entirely Chardonnay, fermented and aged for four months in stainless steel before being bottled for a minimum of a year. Juicy green and red apple float back and forth in a sparkler that is simple and fun to drink now, but has the acidity to repay a few extra years of bottle age should you choose to cellar it. Most and shellfish work well here. In what is now a crowded field, Bartier Brut is holding its own.Tasted: 28 June 2026Tasted by: Prices:

Okanagan Valley, British Columbia, CanadaAs BB matures their traditional method sparkling program, this has moved into a NV bottling, reflecting growing the use of reserve wines. This bottling is roughly equal parts of 2021, 2022, and 2023, and primarily chardonnay with 4% riesling tipped in. Grapes come from Penticton and Peachland, and this went into bottle in the spring of 2024, resting sur lattes until disgorge in December 2025, with no dosage. Toasted red and yellow apple, bread dough, apple skin, and lemon pith work through the brassy palate, with an expansive mousse, until a citrus twist finish. A worthwhile work in progress.Tasted: 27 May 2026Tasted by: Prices:

Okanagan Valley, British Columbia, CanadaIt has been a year since we last tasted this multi-vintage wine. It was showing well then, and with 12 more months of bottle time, it has added to its charm, pitching more complexity and length. The Bartier traditional method sparkling program has gone multi-vintage to begin using a small supply of reserve wines to bolster the house style. Disgorged initially in October 2022 with zero dosage, it is a chardonnay brut, fermented and aged four months in stainless before heading to bottle for 12 months. Green apples with juicy citrus electrify a peach and pear underside with creamy, toasty notes. I love the taut, linear lines and lemon peel finish. Oysters, anyone? Friendly, and fresh, and a lovely work in progress.Tasted: 01 June 2024Tasted by: Prices:

Okanagan Valley, British Columbia, CanadaAs BB matures their traditional method sparkling program, this has moved into a NV bottling, reflecting the use (however small) of reserve wines. The current iteration is entirely chardonnay, fermented and aged 4 months in stainless before heading to bottle and 12 months sur lattes. It was disgorged October 2022 with 0 dosage. Buzzy lemon, green apple up front moves into a creamy, peachy palate, with pear blossoms and toast, tightening up again on the lemon peel finish. Friendly, and fresh, and a lovely work in progress.Tasted: 20 May 2023Tasted by: Prices:
