Abruzzo, ItalyThe Sorricchio family has owned the baronial fief of Valforte since the 13th Century. The vineyard lies within the DOCG Colline Teramane area, but it is the pecorino grape that is the star. Pecorino the grape, not to be confused with the cheese, delivers a delicious mix of almonds and pears undercut by a stony, mineral base and some Meditteranean wild herbs. You can try it with a piece of Pecorino cheese, spaghettini, or mussels. Super value.Tasted: 09 May 2023Tasted by: Prices:
Abruzzo, ItalyThe Sorricchio family has owned the baronial fief of Valforte since the 13th Century, and their vineyard lies within the DOCG Colline Teramane area. This pecorino is grown on north facing (cooler) calcareous laced soils in Piomba and Colle Sale, and from 150 - 350m. Almond blossom, quince, pear skin run through this slender white, over a base of dusty stones. Quite a smart pecorino, and at a great price.Tasted: 26 May 2023Tasted by: Prices:
