Vista Flores, Valle de Uco, Tunuyán, Central Region, Mendoza, ArgentinaFrom 20 year old vines in Uco Valley's Tunuyan, Vista Flores area, this malbec comes from a single vineyard. It is fermented in stainless steel, but only 30 percent of the juice is aged for six months in American oak barrels. The style is deliberately juicy, pitching black plums with some lingering and, as of yet, unresolved tannins. The finish is a mix of smoke and oak, again a nod to its youth. This wine will appeal to many, especially when it is served with barbecue grilled beef. I suggest a splash decanting to aid this wine further in opening up in the glass.Tasted: 09 March 2023Tasted by: Prices:
Vista Flores, Valle de Uco, Tunuyán, Central Region, Mendoza, ArgentinaFrom 20-year-old vines in Uco Valley's Tunuyan, Vista Flores, and 1100m altitude, this was fermented in stainless before resting for six months in American oak barrels. Ripe plum and blackberry are filtered with camp smoke and framed with chewy, ripe and somewhat sticky tannins. The finish hangs with American oak vanillin and more of the aforementioned campfire smoke. Certainly, one to partner with hefty grilled fare and one that will benefit from a decant.Tasted: 11 April 2023Tasted by: Prices:
