Church & State Wines Petit Verdot 2019
Okanagan Valley, British Columbia, CanadaFrom Coyote Bowl Vineyard on the Black Sage Bench, this petit verdot is always an extensive wine, and in 2019 it remains no less so. The nose intensely pitches graphite and floral notes before the big black, peppery fruit kicks in. The palate is dry, and the tannins are youthful, suggesting that the bottle needs more years. Expansive and structured, it needs more charm this year. This will be best with grilled lamb or wild boar to offset its power and tannins.
