Catena Vista Flores Malbec 2019

Vista Flores, Valle de Uco, Tunuy√°n, Central Region, Mendoza, ArgentinaDon Domingo Catena began sourcing Malbec from the historic vineyards of Vista Flores In the 1950s, and it has only become a more and more prominent home to quality fruit over the last 70 years. This is at once sturdy, with a dark colour and dense sweet tannins, but rich with black and blue fruits, mocha, pepper, black tea, and blueberry. The wine gets a five day non-alcoholic cold soak before a 16-day fermentation and another ten days of maceration post-ferment. The finished juice spends 12 months in French oak, of which 35% is new. Vista Flores Vineyard sits at 1100m in loamy soil, with rounded rocks on the bottom. The alluvial composition is 80% sand, 10% clay and 10% silt.Tasted: 02 April 2023Tasted by: Anthony GismondiPrices:
