PortugalFrom the Coop Vitivinicola on Portugal's volcanic Azores island of Pico, this blends 70% Arinto dos Açores, with a mix of Verdejo, Fernão Pires, and Boal. This was fermented and rested 4 months on lees in stainless. Pouring a deep yellow hue, this is heady and waxen across a medium palate, lined with perfumed talc, honeysuckle, fragrant white flowers, and ample rosewater. There's a saline rinse carrying the finish, reminding of this volcanic island's geography.
