Kumeu River Rays Road Pinot Noir 2019
Hawkes Bay, North Island, New ZealandFrom the Brajkovich's newish limestone hillside vineyard in Hawke’s Bay, where various clones of Pinot Noir had been planted in 2008 by the previous owners (a joint venture between Trinity Hill and Pascal Jolivet from Pouilly-Fumé) This is led by clone MV6, and was destemmed with 3 weeks skin contact before fermented and aging in French oak (10% new) for 1 year. Damp moss, forest floor, tea leaves lead this medium+ pinot, flushed out with ripe plum, thorny blackberry, and purple florals. Drinking now, ideally with wild mushrooms / pork dishes.Tasted: 25 March 2023Tasted by: Treve RingPrices:Grape: Pinot Noir
