FranceThis family estate owns vineyards in the Upper and Central Loire. Descending from an old French family that is established in the Netherlands since the 19th century, (where the V became a W) Joost and Miguela de Willebois settled in Touraine with their 4 sons in 1996. They since hired Patrice Merceron and Alberto Tonetto to oversee the estate. This entry Savvy comes from vineyards from the coast across the valley. After a stainless ferment, this remained on lees for 3 months prior to bottling. Verbena, gooseberry, crunchy green apple streak across the medium palate, with lemon peel tightening, and a fine lees pad slicking the bottom, finishing with a dash of white pepper. Fresh, bright, punchy, and reach for enjoying now.Tasted: 13 October 2023Tasted by: Prices:

FranceThe Vin de France cuvée gives J. de Villebois some leeway to work outside Sancerre with grapes grown on the cool Atlantic Coast and in the Loire Valley. Don’t be fooled. The result is more Sancerre than Vin de France, which means you are getting a sauvignon that overdelivers for its price. Fresh gooseberry mixes with citrus, pears, and super bright acidity. Clean and correct, this is a treat for the price and the perfect seafood wine for the west coast of North America.Tasted: 10 March 2023Tasted by: Prices:
