Joseph Drouhin Côte de Nuits Villages 2020

Côtes de Nuits-Villages, Côtes de Nuits, Côte d'Or, Burgundy, FranceCôtes de Nuits Villages is a blend of village wines from the southern end of the Côte de Nuits: Corgoloin, Comblanchien, Premeaux, Brochon, and Couchey. The name Côte de Nuits comes from the town Nuits-Saint-Georges, the capital of its own Côte. The fermentation and maceration runs 14-21 days on indigenous yeasts, followed by 12 to 15 months of ageing in French oak barrels, of which only 10 percent is new. As a result, you expect this label to have a bit of gravitas, and it delivers a slightly deeper, darker, more brooding style of pinot noir with a touch of tannin dust. The nose leads with Bing cherry aromas that mix with lightly spicy earthy, mushroom, mulberries, and dark plums. Fresh and balanced, this is drinking well now but will improve in bottle over the next three years.Tasted: 26 February 2023Tasted by: Anthony GismondiPrices:
