Fort Berens White Gold Reserve 2020
Lillooet, British Columbia, CanadaAs strange as it might sound to some, the FB Reserve is all Lillooet fruit grown at Dry Creek Vineyard. When people talk cool-climate chardonnay, and many do, few can claim a latitude of 50° 41' 6.59 N, but Fort Berens can. The '20 is a reasonably rich version with peachy aromas that spill onto the palate with creamy, nutty, buttery undercurrents and a vanilla-flavoured finish. Fear not, there is plenty of acidity and freshness, but it could use a bit more electricity to set it apart from so many other chardonnays made around the world.
