Fort Berens White Gold Reserve 2020

Lillooet, British Columbia, CanadaAs strange as it might sound to some, the FB Reserve is all Lillooet fruit grown at Dry Creek Vineyard. When people talk cool-climate chardonnay, and many do, few can claim a latitude of 50° 41' 6.59 N, but Fort Berens can. The '20 is a reasonably rich version with peachy aromas that spill onto the palate with creamy, nutty, buttery undercurrents and a vanilla-flavoured finish. Fear not, there is plenty of acidity and freshness, but it could use a bit more electricity to set it apart from so many other chardonnays made around the world. Now that we know Lillooet chardonnay is a reality, it is time to explore the terroir to the maximum and make a statement about Next World chardonnay. 2020 is ready to drink and would be a fine match with a roasted turkey, sablefish sushi rolls, or decadent lobster rolls.Tasted: 01 February 2023Tasted by: Anthony GismondiPrices:
