Champagne Frédéric Savart l'Ouverture 1er Cru Brut NV

Montagne de Reims, Champagne, FranceSituated 10 km west of Reims, Frédéric Savart is based in the village of Écueil, in the Val de Reims. Continuing from his father's work with their 'laboratory of terroirs,' Savart has made the 4-hectare property his own and has become one of the superstars of the Grower Champagne movement. L'Ouverture is the introduction to Freddy's range, with three vintages of Pinot Noir from Écueil's sandy soils, native fermented and aged in a mix of stainless and barrel before heading to bottle. My bottle was disgorged in January 2025 with 3.5 g/L. Crunchy red apple, fragrant cherry, wild raspberry coulis is sharpened with tart rhubarb acidity, and subtly carved with chalk, the latter lingering on the finish. Very smartly showing pinot noir's perfumed expressiveness in Écueil. Tasting beauty now, and with ample time ahead. 28,000 bottles.Tasted: 19 October 2025Tasted by: Prices:
