Twenty Mile Bench, Niagara Peninsula, Ontario, CanadaFrom their Twenty Mile Bench estate Cherry Avenue Vineyard, planted on loamy clays in 2003. This opens with a deeply spiced nose, including star anise, pine, pipe tobacco, and dark gingerbread which pervade the medium+ wine, scenting black raspberry, dark plum, sarsaparilla. Ample wood tannins are sinewy, and acidity is moderate.
