Haywire Chardonnay 2021

Okanagan Valley, British Columbia, CanadaA new year, a new label, a new wine, and a new winery name. Okanagan Crush Pad has shifted its name to Haywire Winery, reflecting the growing importance of its leading brand and the company's shift away from being a custom crush facility. With the change comes new branding and this new Haywire Chardonnay. Ripe and creamy, and assumedly sourced from numerous sites across the Okanagan, this was whole bunch pressed and fermented in concrete before full MLF and time on lees. This young, medium-bodied white is downy with lees and threaded with lemon, green apple, meadow grass, flax, and subtle salinity, which linger on the hop-kissed finish. Quite smart, and will doubtlessly settle into itself a bit more with time.Tasted: 17 January 2023Tasted by: Treve RingPrices:
