Fita Preta Branco 2021Alentejo, Central and Southern Portugal, PortugalFrom lauded winemaker Antonio Maçanita (2020 winemaker of the year in Portugal), this blend of roupeiro, rabo de ovelha, antão vaz, tamarez, alicante branco, and arinto are sourced from Alentejo's granitic soils, and vines from 30-50 years, up to 400m in altitude. After a native ferment in stainless barrels, this remained there on lees for 6 months prior to bottling. This streamlined base is bedded with stones, supporting tight lemon, quince, green apple and rivets of salinity through the lingering finish. There's a lovely pad of lees to support and welcome protein pairings.Tasted: 11 January 2023Tasted by: Treve RingPrices:
