Collavini Pucino Refosco 2020
Collavini began in 1896 under founder Eugenio Collavini. His grandson, Manlio, is known as 'the lord of ribolla, for his work the grape. The winery is now in the hands of Manlio and his sons Giovanni and Luigi. They are now centred in Corni di Rosazzo, with 170 hectares of vineyards in Collio, on the Slovenian boarder, and Colli Orientali, at altitude. Refosco dates back to ancient Roman times. Here, the grapes are fermented and aged briefly in stainless. Dried flowers, boysenberry, thorns, and fresh black currants glide over a sleek, steely, medium bodied palate, with sticky, fuzzy tannins, and lightly washed with pink pepper, anise, and balsam on the finish. A crispy, floral red that would suit a slight chill.Tasted: 08 December 2022Tasted by: Treve RingPrices: Producer: Eugenio CollaviniGrape: Refosco
