Okanagan Valley, British Columbia, CanadaThis fruity red offers dark cherry and black plum framed by fresh acidity in a medium body. It lacks blaufränkisch’s hallmark spiciness found in examples from its homeland, Austria, but it is a highly delightful choice for those seeking a relatively obscure varietal red that’s also approachable.Tasted: 26 July 2023Tasted by: Prices:
Okanagan Valley, British Columbia, CanadaBlaufrankisch is found throughout Central Europe, though it's most commonly associated with Austria. Mt. Boucherie proves it's right at home in the Similkameen, too. From 28 year old vines planted at Lazy River Vineyard, this offers spiced cherry and dark plum, with a dusting of sweet cinnamon and crushed gravel. It's juicy, light in tannin, and ready to enjoy now, especially with a light chill. A fun discovery, to be sure.Tasted: 29 November 2022Tasted by: Prices:
