La Soeur Cadette Juliénas 2021

Juliénas, Beaujolais Villages, Beaujolais, Burgundy, FranceBorn into a family of vignerons, Valentin Montaney sources grapes from across Bourgogne and Beaujolais for his negociant La Soeur Cadette wines. Valentin wanted to highlight the lesser-seen Juliénas cru in this bright and joyous red. This blends two sites, one on blue granite and one on sandy soils, with vines averaging 80 years. This was whole cluster fermented in concrete and then into older barrels for 8-10 months’ rest. Youthful and bright, with crushed florals, herbal raspberry, rhubarb, laced with ample mineral salts, lifted with easy granite acidity, and hugged with finely sticky tannins through the bitter cherry finish. Friendly, smart Juliénas for enjoying now and over the short term. #GoGamayGo.Tasted: 15 November 2022Tasted by: Treve RingPrices:
