Château la Rabotine Les Petites Pierres Sancerre 2020

Sancerre, Upper Loire, Loire, FranceAlban Roblin is one of the rising stars of Sancerre, managing the family's 12 hectare domaine in the small village of Sury-en-Vaux, just half a dozen kilometres from the town of Sancerre, since 2010. From one of the domaine's top plots, these sauvignon blanc vines date back to the 1970s and 1980s, planted in shallow, stony soils. This was fermented and aged in older barrels over 1 year. Stony, salty rock juice, this is imbued with lemongrass, subtle passionfruit, pear blossom, lemon pith and ample flake salts across a lightly cushioned palate, trailing off with salinity. Lovely generosity and likability to this youthful Sancerre, primed for enjoying now.Tasted: 23 November 2022Tasted by: Treve RingPrices:
