Champagne Lilbert-Fils Blanc de Blancs Grand Cru Brut NV

Champagne, FranceThe Lilbert property was established in 1746, and today is in the care of Bertrand Lilbert. Champagne Lilbert-Fils owns 3.5 hectares of GC fruit on the Côte des Blancs, with an average vine age of 45 years. This NV Brut, their flagship blend, is by default a blanc de blancs, blending Cramant, Chouilly, and Oiry, based half on 2019, with the remaining half reserve wines. This spent 3 years on lees, and was disgorged in spring 2022 with 3 g/L. Crystalline lemon, crunchy green apple, toasted almonds, subtle meringue streak along a very pure palate, with a fine cushion of lees, softer mousse, and kiss of white flowers on the lightly chalky finish. A subtle delight.Tasted: 29 November 2022Tasted by: Treve RingPrices:
