Champagne Gosset Celebris Rosé Brut 2008

Champagne, FranceThis vintage is only the fourth edition of Gosset Celebris Rosé in the past twenty-five years. It is a limited edition of 15,000 bottles. This blends 72% Chardonnay and 28% Pinot Noir (8% is red wine). The grapes came from Ambonnay, Avize, Aÿ, Bouzy, Cramant, Cuis, Cumières, Trépail, Vertus, Villers-Marmery. After 12+ years in the cellars (2nd latest house after Krug), this bottle was disgorged in 2022, with 6.5 g/L. Pouring a peach salmon hue, this "rosé by consequence" was created by the blend. It wasn't planned that way. Vinous and contemplative, with deep salinity, and layers of truffle, dried herbs, cherry liqueur, burnished orange, and meringue, with fine spices through the very long finish. Quite a wine, and still growing with bottle age (I last tasted in 2022).Tasted: 03 December 2025Tasted by: Prices:
