Bachelder Wismer Parke Wild West End Pinot Noir 2020

Twenty Mile Bench, Niagara Peninsula, Ontario, CanadaFifty metres from Wismer-Parker Vineyard proper on the Twenty Mile Bench, Wild West End refers to westerly rows planted in 1999 to an unknown clone. Rich in reddish magnesium oxide and dolomitic-limestone clay, these soils give this wine its "wild" iron character. This is such an impressive wine, though still tightly wound at this early stage. It's mineral-driven, ferrous and flinty, supported by bright cherry, dried roses, and five spice. The place shines here, and you can't help but feel transported to the vineyard. It's simply a spectacular bottle of wine, elegant, expressive, and complete, that you wish would never end.Tasted: 29 November 2022Tasted by: Prices:
