Vinadores de Gredos La Esclara Garnacha 2019
SpainLa Escalera comes from a single dry farmed vineyard at 1000m in the Gredos Mountains in Cebreros, and utilizes garnacha of 60-80 years in sandy granite soils. The native fermentation took place over 30 days maceration before heading to 3rd use barrels for 9 months. It was bottled unfined and unfiltered. Sticky ripe strawberry, wild raspberry, herbal tea leaves and white pepper flood the 15% palate, with a buzzy granitic grip bracing the underlay, bright, lofted acidity, and long, soft and fuzzy tannins hugging the sides through a grippy finish.
