Storm Haven Gold Digger Riesling 2020
Okanagan Falls, Okanagan Valley, British Columbia, Canada2020 is the second release of the Storm Haven wines from Synchromesh, with all the fruit coming off their spectacularly diverse 107 acre home site in Okanagan Falls. This marks the debut vintage of Gold Digger, a section of the north block, planted in 2016 on slate and sandy gravels. Crushed stone, honeycomb, brown butter is the savoury base for coursing apricot, lime pith and peel, and tangerine, all lingering long on the stone licked finish. The fractured slate soils certainly yield a fine backbone and hint of gravitas to these young vines, a verve that will continue to deepen as the vines age. Love the savoury subtleties here.
