Phantom Creek Estates Small Lot Riesling Limited Edition 2020
Cawston, Similkameen Valley, British Columbia, CanadaThis tiny lot riesling comes from the spectacularly stony, windy Similkameen Valley, the next valley west of the south Okanagan. The nose is a muted lemon affair with light mineral notes. The palate is pleasantly balanced but perhaps a little flat or, to be fair, rich for riesling acid freaks. It is aged in Austrian oak foudres. Overall the wine is crisp and tasty, and ready to drink. These are young vines and early days, but this is a good start for Phantom Creek in the Similkameen as Olivier Humbrecht works to interpret a very young vineyard site.
