Noble Ridge The One 2017
Okanagan Valley, British Columbia, CanadaI'm impressed by the journey of this label that has taken it from an okay sparkler to a top-flight fizz, spending an impressive 47 months on lees. Elegance and complexity are never easy to achieve, but The One has it, mixing 77 percent chardonnay with 23 percent pinot noir, all from the home vineyard. A nutty, buttery pastry aroma up front spreads across the palate and pushes deep into the finish. It has a hint of oxidation, but the citrus notes and high acid are the perfect foil to balance it all.
