Foxtrot Pinot Noir Paddock Vineyard 2020

Okanagan Valley, British Columbia, CanadaThe Paddock Pinot is the second single vineyard bottling planted in 2014, entirely with clone 115 cuttings from Foxtrot's Estate vineyard. After a three-day cold soak, it fermented in stainless steel, and after 16 days of maceration, it was barrel aged in neutral French oak for 14 months, leaving a beautiful effect on these young vines, setting the fruit free. It is quite a powerful pinot with rich black plum and dense, soft tannin yet to be shed. Long and dusty minerals wrap it up — a bit of a sleeper which fits with its near future to be stored in the Foxtrot wine library for ageing. It will be fun to watch its development. Sadly only one barrel was produced. Foxtrot characterizes 2020 as a challenging year, but in the end, it turned out to be excellent for those who paid attention to viticulture. Harvest began on October 8 in several single vineyard-designated blocks, extending until late October. The estate blocks were picked the third week of October, just before the first cold snap.Tasted: 07 October 2022Tasted by: Anthony GismondiPrices:
