Faugères, Coteaux du Languedoc, Languedoc, Sud de France, FranceFelgaria is a 70/30 mourvèdre/syrah blend aged twelve months in barrels. That’s the short story. The longer, more exciting story is Brigitte Chevalier, ex-Bordeaux/St Emilion wine seller turned winemaker has managed the 11-ha estate since 2007, growing the fruit organically in the centre of the wild, high Languedoc on the Faugères shales. The wine is fully ripe and full-flavoured, mixing spicy blackcurrant, a hint of complexing prune, and most of all, the taste of schist.
