Côte des Blancs, Champagne, FranceOenophile is the same blend as Fleuron, the thumbprint blanc de blancs of the vintage, but with zero dosage. As the name suggests, this is all about purity, and was originally directed towards the sommelier community. This special RD (Recently Disgorged) 2008 is one of 2000 bottles kept back, disgorged in October 2021. The bottle is based on GC's Cramant (40%) and Chouilly (38.5%), with 7.5% from Oger and 14% from their home village 1er Cru Cuis. Beautifully brioche throughout this amazingly fresh wine, with green apple, meringue, chestnuts, and light toast around a savoury, doughy base. Ample chalkiness lingers a lengthy saline finish. This reflects well the rich 2008 vintage, with still fantastic freshness in the bottle for having spent so long sur lattes. Quite special to taste this RD. Super impressive.Tasted: 21 February 2024Tasted by: Prices:
