Champagne, FranceChampagne Emile Leclere was founded in 1832, and is today run by 5th generation Vincent and Marie. Based in Mardeuil, they own 12 hectares of vineyards, primarily pinot meunier, chardonnay, and pinot noir. This blend of 80% pinot meunier and 20% pinot noir (7% still wine, aged 3 month in barrel). This spent 3 years on lees, and was dosed with 8 g/L. Rustic. gritty raspberry, cherry, biscuit lead the short palate, finishing a bit bitter and coarse.
