Champagne Emile Leclerc Cuvée Bicentenaire Brut NV

Champagne, FranceChampagne Emile Leclere was founded in 1832, and is today run by 5th generation Vincent and Marie. Based in Mardeuil, they own 12 hectares of vineyards, primarily pinot meunier, chardonnay, and pinot noir. This was based on chardonnay (60%), with 30% Pinot Meunier and 10% pinot Noir. It spent 6 months in oak prior to heading to bottle and 5 years sur lattes. It was disgorged with 8 g/L in September 2020. Lovely and complete, with lemon, red apple, brioche, anise wrapping around a doughy core, braced by lemon pith seasoned with fresh hazelnuts, and finishing with a lingering chalkiness. Drinking now.Tasted: 21 October 2022Tasted by: Treve RingPrices:
