Telmo Rodriguez Gaba Do Xil Godello Branco 2019
Valdeorras, Galicia, Spain2019 Gaba do Xil Branco of Galicia is made with the little-known Godello and some other assorted local grapes that grow at 400 to 500 meters on red clay and slate soils. The fermentation is all natural in stainless steel tanks, aged for four months on its lees. In some ways, it is so simple it is sophisticated beyond belief. The nose and palate are mineral, granitic, and super dry with guava and a chalky, dusty, saline finish. Rodriguez says, “Gaba do Xil offers an update on the wines of the inner Galicia.
