Tasca D'Almerita Tenuta Regaleali Rosso del Conte 2016
Sicily, ItalyThis shows soft, luscious dark fruits in a ripe, modern style, with the forward oak to match. Even with all new wood, this has the fruit weight and concentration to keep things in balance, helped by the quality of the barrel selections and the clear affinity to the fruit. There's a lot of depth here, with fennel, dried violets, and pepper adding complexity to the bold fruit. Medium to full bodied, it's beautifully structured in a rich, dense style, with a freshness that belies its age. Just starting to hint at its vintage; enjoy over the next 4-6 years.Tasted: 01 September 2022Tasted by: Prices:
Tasca D'Almerita Tenuta Regaleali Rosso del Conte 2016
Sicily, ItalyA blend of Sicily’s own nero d’avola and perricone, this is a contemporary and ambitious interpretation of these native varieties. Aged in 100% new French oak, this wine is not shy about its oak influences, contributing extra layers of floral fragrance, a cedar nose, and savoury spices to the intensely rich black cherry, plum. At almost 6 years of age, it still tastes fresh and youthful with only mere hints of soy umami and savoury black olives. It is worthy of more cellaring ahead given its powerful fruit and ample yet tightly knit tannins.Tasted: 17 September 2022Tasted by: Prices:
