Okanagan Valley, British Columbia, CanadaWinemaker Stephanie Stanley is turning heads at Peak Cellars with wines like this Skin Kissed Gris. It takes its colour from a cool overnight immersion with skins before being pressed off. As a result, it's not rosé but has some pale colour magic to lift your spirits. The palate is a juicy explosion of apple and strawberry, and it is up another notch in quality this year. The magic sauce is that savoury sagebrush and tarragon kick that comes through the finish. It's taken 40 years, but pinot gris is finally finding its footing in BC, and this is one of the most exciting new models.
