O'Rourke Family Estate Waiting For You Pinot Noir 2019
Lake Country, Okanagan Valley, British Columbia, CanadaThe poetic Waiting For You is an early six-barrel release from a single block of five-year-old vines at Carrs Landing. Block 9 was indigenous yeast fermented and aged 50% in new French oak, 17% in one-year-old barrels, and the remainder in neutral French oak barrels, all for 11 months underground in the O'Rourke wine caves. The colour is surprisingly dark for a 13.5% alcohol and a 50+degree north vineyard. However, it is alive with freshness on the palate, led by a black cherry juicy base streaked with a touch of orange, chocolate, tobacco, and turned earth. Long and silky describes its persistent finish.
