b.io Il Nero 2020

Sicily, ItalyThis distinctly shaped, bee-laden bottle is from the Terre Cevico co.op, founded in 1963, and blends 60% nero d'avola with 40% cabernet sauvignon from inland southwestern Sicily. b.io references their organic project, also active in Puglia and their home base of Emilia Romagna. The grapes are harvested and fermented separately in stainless, with 10 days maceration and 6-8 months in tank. Rich and plumped with blackberries, boysenberry, juicy plum, and sweet black raspberry, this full red fills the mouth with gobs of soft fruit, lightly hugged with plush tannins to a kirsch finish. One to pop with roasted root veg.Tasted: 20 September 2022Tasted by: Treve RingPrices:
