Terrelab Winemaker Series Tempranillo 2018
Okanagan Valley, British Columbia, CanadaThe TerreLab Tempranilo label is a new wine for Gold Hill, with a label designed for wine geeks. From its PH 7.9 to clone type 770, Block number ITPJ, vine density of 2200 vines/acre, yield of 3 tons/acre, and ageing 18 months in wood, this is a label chock full of interesting facts. It is all tempranillo with vibrant lifted red fruit, on the threshold of being volatile. The texture is soft, and the flavours are persistent, long, and savoury, but this needs a big chunk of meat to rein in the volatile notes in the finish. Grilled lamb or pork would be my choice.
