Champagne, FranceHugues Godmé is the 5th generation to make wine in Verzenay. They own 8ha of vines in the Montagne de Reims, farmed organically and biodynamically since 2006. This comes from their home base in Verzenay. 50% was fermented in old oak barrels, has 60% reserve wines, and spent three years on lees, disgorged in January 2021 with no dosage. Toast and meringue lead the doughy core, with lemon and red apple padding the medium+ body, studded with rock salts, which linger on the chalky finish.
