Alois Lageder Chardonnay 2020
Sudtirol - Alto-Adige, Trentino- Alto-Adige, ItalyThey make several chardonnays at Lageder, and this is the introductory label. This chardonnay is grown between 230 and 420 metres above sea level on rocky, sandy, Alto Adige limestone soils. At a modest 12 percent alcohol, it comes with a lightness and mountain freshness that gives it immediate appeal. Oats and minerals preview a bright green apple core mixed with melons and lemons and a silky, creamy long finish. The acidity is perfect, and the time on lees has added texture and complexity to this simple but perfectly executed chardonnay that sees no wood. Shellfish, fish tacos, or creamy pasta dishes will get the job done here. A chardonnay for aficionados.Tasted: 18 August 2022Tasted by: Anthony GismondiPrices:BC | $20.00 | 750ml | speculative listing - Mark Anthony Wine Merchants |
