Vina Ane Selección Eduardo Monge Rioja 2016
Rioja, SpainViña Ane Selección 2016 is a dense, rich style of Rioja. No red fruit here. The vineyard blocks are grown over clay-calcareous soils adding texture and mouthfeel from front to back. It has a dark and brooding purple colour with notes of toast and oak mixed with black fruit and chocolate. This wine is aged in French barrels, remaining for 13 months. I love the minerality here and the edges that keep it just off the norm and more in the particular tempranillo lane, albeit significantly dense, rich, and sweet. Again, lamb seems the choice here.Tasted: 01 July 2022Tasted by: Anthony GismondiPrices:BC | $32.99 | 750ml | select private retailers |
