Okanagan Valley, British Columbia, CanadaThis 8% abv rosé is just about perfect for summertime in the Okanagan. (The high was 33 degrees in Penticton today, so I'm trying this under ideal circumstances.) It's a welcome addition to the low alcohol category, and it hits the mark with a light, brisk palate that's balanced, dry (2 g/L), and all about refreshment and fruit, showing bright red berries and citrus. All it really needs is to be packaged in a can for easy enjoyment on the beach.Tasted: 11 July 2022Tasted by: Prices:
Okanagan Valley, British Columbia, CanadaPoplar Grove Rosé Nouveau is a low alcohol (8 percent) and low calorie (85 per 5-ounce glass) pink. The finished wine was run through a special membrane to remove a portion of the ethanol, leaving the colour and aroma intact. The texture differs from the regular version, presenting somewhat skinnier and showing a slightly sweeter palate. Strawberries and watermelon with a citrus streak mark the palate, finishing clean but short. Ready to drink and a solid alternative for those looking for a glass of lighter rosé wine.Tasted: 06 June 2022Tasted by: Prices:
Okanagan Valley, British Columbia, CanadaRosé Nouveau is a new low alcohol (8%) / low calorie (85) release, crafted with the use of a Juclas Mastermind 50 to remove alcohol. When alcohol is removed, sugar is usually added to replace the mouthfeel. That seems the case here, with the 8 g/L feeling sweeter and more candied than expected, with watermelon, red candy apple, apple blossoms, and peach gummies, with a pointed grapefruit acidity to tighten on the short, snappy finish. If you're looking for a pink to chill well, and calories / alcohol is a concern, here you go.Tasted: 02 June 2022Tasted by: Prices:
