Fanti Brunello di Montalcino 2013

Tuscany, ItalyThe Tenuta Fanti estate has belonged to the Fanti family since the beginning of the eighteenth century. It extends across 300 hectares in Toscana, 52 hectares of which are specialized certified sustainable vineyards, 110 hectares are olive orchards, 80 hectares are used for seed plots, and 70 hectares are forests. Made from 20-30-year-old vines, this Brunello fermented over 25 days in stainless before aging 28 months a mix of French oak barrels and 3,000L Slavonian oak vat. The wine then aged in bottle for one year prior to release. Dried leaves, dried cherry, worked leather, mushrooms weave through the medium palate, still showing brightness, though fading now with age. Tannins are long and sticky, making this best served now with grilled pork / lamb. Drinking now.Tasted: 16 June 2022Tasted by: Treve RingPrices:
