Alsace, FranceThis Riesling comes from 40 year old vines rooted in their biodynamic Bennwihr estate. Ten percent was macerated on skins for 10 days, and then blended back with the whole for a native ferment in foudre, where it rested on lees for 1 year until bottling with light filtration and a minimum of sulphur. Honeyed lemon, tangerine, lime pith, grapefruit streak through this tight and nimble dry wine, with an undercurrent of grippy granite, and perfume of wildflowers that lingers on the finish.
