Vinho Verde, Northern Portugal, PortugalThe Meirles family has long owned vineyards around Vila da Lixa, selling their fruit to others, but in 1886 they decided to start making their own wines. They hired well-known oenologist Carlos Teixeira in the early 2000s to over see the project. They now have 52 hectares of vines across 6 estates. This 2020 shows a lovely honeyed note, cusping with slight age, and encasing the pear, yellow plum, green apple, toasted almond core.
